University researchers can go to the ONLINE ORDERING SYSTEM and download UMGC Quantitation Request Form.
Researchers outside the University can request a form by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Print and submit completed form with your samples.
For Agilent RNA sizing, submit 4 ul of sample in a 96-well plate (fill plate starting with A1-H1, A2-H2, etc.).
For Caliper RNA sizing, submit 6 ul in a 96-well plate (fill plate starting with A1-H1, A2-H2, etc.).
Note: Capillary electrophoresis is sensitive to ionic contaminants. Hence, higher salt concentrations can interfere with performance of samples in molecular sizing. We recommend cleaning up samples for Agilent or Caliper Qualitative Analysis. Please elute in water or 10mM Tris-HCL, pH 8.5 for best results.
For RNA samples, please make sure samples are submitted directly to a UMGC staff member so that the samples are stored appropriately. RNA samples can be placed in the indicated freezer.
1-202 Nils Hasselmo Hall (Minneapolis campus) – Freezer #1.
1-210 Cancer & Cardiovascular Research Building (Minneapolis campus) small freezer in the lobby.
28 Snyder Hall (St. Paul campus) – please drop off directly with UMGC staff. We have a fridge, not a freezer in Snyder 20.
Electropherogram and gel pseudo images are emailed to client.
The UMGC guarantees a turnaround time of 3 days. Often results are sent out within 24 hours of sample submission.
