The UMN Genomics Center is hosting our 11th Annual GenoFest on Friday, October 6, 2023. This informative open house is for the UMN research community to learn about emerging trends in genomics technologies, future plans for the UMGC, and available resources and services.

This year, GenoFest is organized as a combination of UMGC presentations, including a main presentation by UMGC Director, Dr. Kenny Beckman, technology presentations, lab tours, networking opportunities, and a genomics resource fair with ~15 tables hosted by industry experts.

This event is free and open to the public – any researchers and support staff who are interested in learning more about the UMGC and the genomic resources available to support their research are encouraged to attend.

Lab Tours

We will open our 1-210 CCRB lab to provide additional information about the comprehensive genomic resources available for UMN researchers. During the tour, GenoFest attendees will have an opportunity to:

  • See our state-of-the-art genomics technologies including the newly arrived AVITI System
  • View the area that will become the dedicated workspace for spatial and single-cell researchers (coming early 2024)
  • View the Innovation Lab’s fly injector in action and learn more about their collaborations
  • Speak with UMGC scientists: Aaron Becker, Fernanda Rodriguez, John Garbe, and the Innovation Lab
  • Ask questions about your upcoming projects

These 15-minute tours will be offered between 12:30 PM - 1:45 PM during GenoFest. Sign-up will be available at GenoFest during check-in and also the coffee break.
