Snyder Lab relocating on Nov 29

During the week of Monday, November 27 - Friday, December 1, the UMN Genomics Center will be moving and consolidating two lab spaces into a new, centralized lab at 4Front Technology Campus in Oakdale, MN.

  • Snyder Hall: The UMGC Snyder Hall lab on the St. Paul campus will be relocating to 4Front. Snyder Hall will remain a sample drop-off site for the St. Paul campus. Researchers will have 24/7 access to room 20 for self-serve drop-off starting on Monday, December 4.
  • 4Front: The current UMGC 4Front lab will be moving across the hall.

Lab workflows that were once spread across multiple sites will now be housed under one lab at 4Front. The consolidation into a larger "genomics"-appropriate lab will result in faster service options starting in January 2024.

This move is part of a two-year transformation that has seen us sunset commodity services to focus on new technologies and consolidate our staff from six small labs into two locations: a “flagship” CCRB lab and an off-campus site in Oakdale, MN.

The last part of the transformation will be in January when the Innovation Lab will move from CCRB to Snyder, and we will transform CCRB into a lab dedicated to sequencing and most notably: single-cell and spatial genomics.

We appreciate your patience during this transformation, and we are working to minimize service disruptions and communication delays during the move.

Sincerely,
Kenny Beckman, Ph.D.
