Nanopore Data Analysis Workshop
Explore the world of long-read data analysis with Oxford Nanopore Technologies—workshop and seminar
Come explore the world of long-read data analysis by joining us for an Oxford Nanopore Technologies bioinformatics workshop co-hosted by the Minnesota Supercomputing Institute and UMN Genomics Center.
Workshop participants will discuss real datasets to examine best practices and state-of-the-art approaches for:
- Detecting and quantifying genomic variants, including single-nucleotide variants, large structural and copy-number variants, and modifications. (1:00 – 2:30 p.m)
- Single-cell transcriptome analysis. (3:00 – 4:30 p.m.)
Partner with Oxford Nanopore bioinformatics field application scientist Jennifer Gribble, PhD, to build bioinformatic analyses that examine global and site specific methylation, identifying significantly differentially modified sites, and incorporating variant phasing information across the genome.
In the second session, Nanopore will demonstrate how to leverage 10x Genomics libraries sequenced on Oxford Nanopore technology for isoform and splice variant investigations to better define specific cell populations with high resolution.
Local Oxford Nanopore field application scientist Melissa Drown, PhD, will address key considerations in sample and library preparation and downstream impacts on data analysis and interpretation.
Date: Thursday, November 6
Time: 1:00 – 4:30 p.m.
Location: Microbiology Research Facility, Room 1-101
Presenters: Jennifer Gribble, PhD, and Melissa Drown, PhD, Oxford Nanopore scientists
